Evan Thomas Richey was a junior at Hardin Valley Academy when he received a diagnosis of metastatic osteosarcoma.  After a courageous year long battle, he lost his life to cancer.  Evan was a talented guitarist and artist who was a member of the Hardin Valley Academy RoHawktics Robotics Team.  He loved traveling, online gaming, comics, and the Avengers and was often referred to as “The Strongest Avenger” by many who knew him. Evan’s family hopes to keep his memory alive through this scholarship and inspire talented scholars to pursue a career in cancer care and research.

Each year, at least two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to Knox County, Tennessee high school seniors-one to a Hardin Valley Academy senior and one to an at-large recipient.  At the discretion of the committee, one or more $500 book scholarships may be awarded.
